How Do I Adopt a Dog?
Once you find a pet you’re interested in adopting, you can fill out our adoption application form online or contact us to inquire further.
What Are The Requirements For Adopting A Dog?
- Age: You must be 21 years of age or older to adopt a dog from Lake Charles Pitbull Rescue.
- Responsible Pet Ownership: We require all current dogs in your home to be spayed or neutered. This promotes responsible pet ownership and helps prevent unwanted litters.
- Identification & Verification: Please bring a valid ID that shows your current address during the adoption process.
- Landlord Approval: If you rent your home, you’ll need written verification from your landlord allowing pets on the premises.
- Commitment: Adopting a dog is a lifelong commitment. Before adopting, be sure you can provide the time, financial resources, and training necessary to properly care for your new furry friend. This includes regular vet checkups, monthly heartworm prevention, and ongoing training.
Can I Meet a Dog Before Deciding to Adopt?

Is There An Adoption Fee?
- Spaying or neutering your new dog
- All vaccinations your dog needs to be current on
- Microchipping your dog for permanent identification
- Up-to-date heartworm prevention medication
Does My Application Guarantee Adoption?
Submitting an adoption inquiry does not guarantee the pet you’ve applied for. After receiving your inquiry, our team will review the application and get in touch with you. You may also reach out to us directly to follow up.
